We usually meet at 9:30am at a central location near Tideswell. We will send out a map and directions in advance. There may not always be toilets at the meeting point so do stop at one of the many public facilities in the local area on your way to meet us.
After a short introduction and a quick check you have the essentials for the trip, we'll drive off in convoy to the cave nearby where you’ll change into the caving gear and head underground.
Depending on group numbers and ability, you’ll finish between 12:30 and 1:30pm.
No prior caving experience is required, just the desire to push your own boundaries and experience something new. Adventure Caving is a moderate to high physical activity, if unsure please contact us to discuss individual suitability.
You will be required to crawl at times but will never need to ‘squeeze’ unless choosing to.
You may walk through thigh deep water but will never need to swim or be submerged.
We may climb ladders or scramble up short climbs or over boulders.

Join Peak Instruction on a trip into the dark, magical places beneath the surface on a one of our Adventure Caving trips. You'll visit one of the Peak District's amazing caves or mines and explore deep into the 350 million year old landscape.
No previous experience is required for this activity and it can be enjoyed by anyone 12 years old or above.
The caving can be quite physical at times but normal fitness levels will be fine. A certain amount of crawling is part of the experience and you will get wet and muddy!
This 3 hour caving activity will involve a trip into a more physically challenging cave or mine system than we visit on our Discover trips. Depending on which cave we visit on the day, cavers will pit themselves against scrambles, pools of water, cave mud and physical sections of caving in low passages. It’s not all about the physical adventure, there’s plenty of history and geology to see too.
An Adventure Caving trip is perfect for anyone looking for a challenge. You don’t have to have caved before (but might find a gentler introduction to the sport on our Discover trips). This experience is moderately physical but can ultimately be enjoyed by anyone with average fitness and the desire to have an adventure. We keep our groups small, so it feels like a very personal service, you’ll be part of group of up to a maximum of 8 people to 1 instructor.
