The Woodland Adventure Day
Various starting times but usually 10am if only one group that day.
The day will run for approximately 5 hours depending on numbers.
Each activity will be followed by a short break allowing us to prepare the next session and for you to relax and enjoy the woods.
Lunch can be taken at our main camp or down at your vehicles. You should bring your own lunch for the activity day and any cold or hot drinks. We will endeavour to provide a hot drink if the weather is bad. Lunch normally lasts 30-45 minutes while we prepare the afternoon session and allows you just enough time for a quick pop to the shops if you forgot something.
Experience / Fitness
This activity package is suitable for adults and children 12 years and above (contact us to discuss younger kids). All under 18’s must be accompanied by a paying parent.
No prior experience required. The activities are all optional but a normal fitness level is all that is required. The site is predominantly rough, wild woodland with some very steep sections to walk up and down which can become muddy. Our car park is 200m from the main camp base in the woods. You will not need to walk more than 500m over the whole day.
We can usually accommodate individuals with mobility issues or other medical conditions but we would like to have a conversation with you prior to booking. It is not always possible to adapt each activity.

Free parking available onsite.

Making full use of our private woodland site near Whaley Bridge, you can come and take part in a day of adventure and get to experience 3 brilliant and varied activities. Over the course of the day you’ll do Archery, Bushcraft and a Tyrolean Traverse, all for only £49 per person.

The Woodland Adventure Day starts at 10am and usually lasts around 5/6 hours. You’ll be part of a team of up to 8 people looked after by one of our instructors throughout. The day is perfect for family groups, couples or solo travellers, basically anyone who fancies a day of mixed activities and personal challenge.

Your instructor will meet you at our car park and make sure you have everything you need prior to heading up into the woods. The car park is only 200m from the main site so you can pop back for your lunch later and you don’t need to bring much up with you.

The order they are done will vary but the activities are as follows:

Archery - The range, nestled in the heart of the woodland camp, helps you feel like Robin Hood and our mix of traditional kit and modern bows is different to anything you’ll have done before. Our compound bows adjust to suit adults and kids, so no dinky plastic bows guaranteed!

Bushcraft - We couldn’t spend a day in the woods without having a go at some bushcraft skills. We’ll look at fire lighting techniques and shelter building. The camp fire will be going all day so bring some marshmallows to toast.

Tyrolean Traverse - This is the one that most people have not heard of before. It’s a technique used by climbers and cavers as a method for crossing water or deep voids. We’ll kit you up in full safety gear and give you the chance to cross one of the old quarry bays under your own steam just like Sylvester Stallone in Cliffhanger!
