The PeakZip activity is based at our private woods near Whaley Bridge. Over the course the activity you’ll get to take on 3 different crossings. The zips are not super-easy playground type activities and some physical effort will be required to complete the crossings.
The Main Camp Zip is our warm up, a 20m crossing we use to get everyone used to the safety systems and happy with their kit. You need pull yourself (or be pulled) up to the top of this gently inclined cable, before letting go and gliding back to the start. The next step will be the Flying Fox, our very steep 50m plummet into the quarry bay. You’ll hurtle towards the floor but thankfully, we’ll be slowing you down just at the right moment! Then it’s off to the Big Zipper, a 50m crossing in the glorious open air. Feel the wind in your hair as you roar down from the highest point on the site. Some pulling in is required on this one! The whole experience takes around 2 hours and you will get at least 3 goes, usually more. All equipment and instruction is provided and the activity only costs £19pp. Before coming to your activity, it is essential to read through the Client Information document below, which gives more information on what to bring and what is involved. Make sure everyone in your party has seen the document and we recommend you have a copy printed to help you find us.

This activity is suitable for adults and children 10 years old and above. Contact us direct to discuss bringing younger kids as we need to check kit sizes and make sure you understand that there is a physical aspect to this activity that young kids may struggle with.
All under 18’s must be accompanied by a paying parent. Spectators can occasionally be accommodated in special circumstances but will not be able to be near the activity at all times due to the nature of the site. You must contact us in advance if you wish to bring persons not taking part. As a rule, a participating child must be accompanied by a paying, participating parent.
No prior experience is needed. Average fitness levels are all that is required. The site is predominantly rough, wild woodland with some short but very steep sections to walk up and down which can become muddy. Our car park is 200m from the main camp base in the woods. You will not need to walk more than 600m over the whole experience. You will need to do some pulling along cables and/or pulling others. This is an interactive, physical activity.
Included in the cost
All safety equipment & instruction for at least 3 goes on the crossings, maybe more.
Free parking available onsite or you can walk or take public transport to us.
Basic composting toilet and urinal.
Good footwear is essential, we recommend boots or old trainers. Footwear must completely cover your foot, sorry no 'Crocs' or sandals. Wellington boots are appropriate if well-fitting.
Please bring clothing suitable for the day’s weather forecast and make sure you have full length trousers to protect against midges, brambles and nettles.
A hair tie for long hair.
The site is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible throughout so we would class this activity as unsuitable for those who are wheelchair dependant but some of the crossings can be observed from good wheelchair accessible tracks and we have disabled parking directly next to the first crossing. We can sometimes accommodate individuals with mobility issues or other medical conditions on the activity but we would like to have a conversation with you prior to booking. Sadly this is not always possible due to the terrain of the site.
All participants will be required to fill in an activity form with medical declaration and emergency contact details.
Sorry but dogs are not allowed on the site.
The activities are all optional and if you don’t wish to do one there will be no pressure from our staff team. In that circumstance you are welcome to remain and watch but, we do not offer refunds on the day.
Cancellations and re-scheduling is dealt with in accordance with our Terms & Conditions shown here.
If you wish to book this activity package for a group larger than 8 or for more people than we have remaining spaces on that session, please contact us to see if we can increase available spaces.
Please arrive at our car park just off the main road to be ready by your vehicle for the start time. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your start time as your group may start without you if you run late. Your instructor will meet you at our car park and make sure you have everything you need prior to heading up into the woods. The car park is only 200m from the main site so you can pop back if you forget something but you don’t need to bring much up with you. Your group will be taken through the 3 challenges by one of our instructors and the whole experience will take about 2 hours. The cables are only installed at certain times during the year so it is important to consult our booking dates and times for availability. If you have a private event and you wish to use our zips outside of these dates, please email us for a conversation. Each available date will have a variety of possible start times throughout the day. If we do not show enough places on your desired start time, please get in touch direct and we may be able to add additional resources to accommodate you.
